HAMPTON REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER KICKS-OFF NEW RADIO SHOW

IMMEDIATE RELEASE

VARNVILLE, SC (November 27, 2013)
--Hampton Regional Medical Center has announced it is launching a new radio show "House Calls" starting Tuesday, December 3 on WDOG 93.5 FM. The show will air twice a month from 11 - 11:30 a.m. and will feature a physician or staff member from HRMC. During the 30 minute show, listeners can call-in to ask the physician or on-air guest health related questions.

The first guest is Dr. Glenn Welcker who is Chief of Staff and physician at HRMC. He will discuss how individuals should prepare for an Emergency Room visit. This includes what is considered an emergency condition(s), what to bring with you, knowledge and lists regarding your medications and vaccines, as well as many other related topics such as scheduling regular visits with your primary care physician to avoid trips to the ER.

"The radio show will help us provide important health information to our community," said Nikki Troxclair, director of marketing for Hampton Regional Medical Center. "Discussing relevant health topics will help our community become more familiar with certain medical conditions as well as, we hope, empower individuals to be more proactive in their health care choices."

The second show will air December 17 from 11-11:30 and will feature Dr. Malcolm Horry, primary care and family medicine physician with Coastal Plains Primary Care.

House Calls will air on the first and third Tuesdays of each month.
