VARNVILLE, S.C. (December 3, 2013) - Seeking to build awareness of the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) health insurance marketplace, Hampton Regional Medical Center (HRMC) has an outreach event scheduled to educate and assist uninsured residents who need to obtain health insurance.

On Wednesday, December 11 at 10 a.m., Rozalynn Goodwin, director of policy research for the South Carolina Hospital Association, will be at Hampton Regional Medical Center to discuss the ACA and help answer important questions. The presentation is open to the general public. Space is limited for the event so you are encouraged to reserve a spot by calling: 943-1255.

"This is the first presentation that HRMC is hosting to help the community learn more about the ACA and how to navigate the system," said Nikki Troxclair, director of marketing for Hampton Regional Medical Center. "We plan to hold additional presentations in 2014 but also encourage individuals to contact us prior to that time to meet with a Certified Application Counselor to learn more."

HRMC also has Certified Application Counselors on-site who are available to help assist individuals with the Marketplace. Counselors will be present at the seminar on December 11 to help answer questions and to schedule appointments for ACA registration. The counselors are also available four days a week - Monday thru Thursday from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Appointments can be made at Hampton Regional Medical Center by calling: 943-1217.
