HRMC hires Hampton County Native as new Practice Manager

Varnville, SC - September 29, 2022 - Hampton Regional Medical Center is excited to welcome Karen A. Terry, MPH, as its new Physician Practice Manager at Coastal Plains.

Karen brings 15 years of experience in health administration and community leadership to HRMC. Most recently, Karen served as the Oncology Director for the Curtis and Elizabeth Anderson Cancer Institute at Memorial University Medical Center (MUMC) in Savannah, GA. At MUMC, Karen managed medical oncology, radiation oncology, clinical trials, oncology support services and breast imaging. Karen began her career at the National Cancer Institute through a fellowship focused on implementing best practice cancer prevention and screening programs at the community level. In addition, Karen has served as a community leader through her involvement with First Baptist Church of Savannah, The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Savannah/Chatham Court Appointed Special Advocates, Georgia Public Health Association, United Way of the Coastal Empire and as a Leadership Savannah graduate.

Karen is a sixth generation resident of Hampton County and a graduate of Patrick Henry Academy. She earned a Bachelor of Arts as well as a Master of Public Health from Armstrong Atlantic State University. She also earned a Grant Writing Certification from the University of Georgia.

Karen is excited to join the HRMC family and serve her home community by improving access to healthcare in Hampton County. She has recently moved back to her hometown of Estill. When Karen is not working she enjoys spending time with family, traveling and baking.
