Varnville, SC – March 2026 — Hampton Regional Medical Center in Affiliation with MUSC Health is pleased to announce that Pediatrician Dr. Patty Birgeneau will be joining the primary care practice on April 13, 2026, bringing with her 24 years of experience caring for children and families.
“We are so excited Dr. Patty will be joining the team, providing continuity of care to existing patients, and also accepting new patients from newborns through adulthood,” said Practice Manager Tonya Faircloth.
Dr. Birgeneau, herself a mother of six, graduated cum laude from the Yale University School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency through the Boston Combined Residency Program, a distinguished partnership between Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center. Throughout her career, she has received numerous honors, including recognition in “Best Doctors in America” and selection as one of Boston Magazine’s “Boston Top Doctors.” She spend her residency in the inner city, and much of her career in the densely populated suburbs. However, while visiting her son in college in North Carolina, Birgeneau and her husband fell in love with the Carolinas.
“I was born and raised in New England but have always yearned for the South,” Birgeneau said. “We are finally at a place after raising six children that we have the freedom to really make the move and become part of the community here in the Lowcountry.”
Dr. Birgeneau has a strong background in developmental pediatrics, and has experience with pediatric psychiatry, treating conditions like ADHD and mental health conditions in children. She is eager to bring her extensive clinical expertise to families in Hampton County. She is committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care and looks forward to forming strong, lasting relationships with patients.
Dr. Birgeneau, who prefers to be called, “Dr. Patty” will see patients on the campus of Hampton Regional Medical Center, at Coastal Plains Primary Care, and appointments are available. To schedule an appointment, please contact the office at 803-943-7612.
