VARNVILLE, SC—Hampton Regional Medical Center in Affiliation with MUSC Health is pleased to welcome Dr. Charles D. (Chuck) Garner to Coastal Plains Physician Associates as a general surgeon.
“We are so excited to welcome Dr. Garner to our staff to grow and expand our surgical offerings to better serve the residents of the Hampton area” said HRMC Chief Executive Officer, Dave Hamill.
Garner brings over 30 years of surgical experience to Hampton Regional with specific interest in general and vascular surgery. Garner, a Charleston native, is a 1986 graduate of Winthrop University. He received his MD from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1991. After several years of residency and work in Virginia at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Garner settled in Pawleys Island where he opened a successful private surgical practice and completed surgeries in Waccamaw and
Tidelands hospitals as well as many surgery centers, giving him a wealth of knowledge and experience.
Garner and his wife, Amy and their two sons Grady, and Charlie have recently moved to the Scotia area of Hampton County. His daughter Bailey lives in North Carolina. Garner and his family are looking forward to enjoying all the hunting, fishing and outdoor activities that the Hampton area has to offer as they make it their new home.
“I’m really impressed with the facility and the staff here, I love the small town hospitality they have shown me,” Garner said. “I look forward to getting to know the community and helping to enhance the surgical services we currently have, as well as develop more offerings locally.”
