HRMC offers two mobile apps to enhance the patient experience

VARNVILLE, S.C. (December 13, 2019) - With one goal in mind - to enhance the patient experience - Hampton Regional Medical Center (HRMC) is proud to offer two mobile applications that will provide patients with secure, convenient access to their health information on a mobile device or tablet.

The Meditech MHealth app offers an easier approach to accessing Hampton Regional's myHealth Patient Portal. With just one click, users can experience the flexibility of connecting to the portal without having to create bookmarks or browser shortcuts. Meditech MHealth incorporates the same functions as the desktop patient portal, enabling patients to view and request appointments, update personal information, securely communicate with their care team, and much more.

Adding another dimension to optimizing patient involvement in health outcomes, the 1upHealth app aggregates patient health information from multiple facilities into one place. The app comprises the largest network of health systems for patient access; as such, users can avoid visiting each facility's health portal individually. Once the facility has been on-boarded by the app, patient information including medications and laboratory results can be viewed in an easy to understand format.

"We are pleased to offer our patients a safe, convenient way to manage their health information," said Karen Gosnell, BSN, RN, Clinical Systems Analyst. "If a patient sees a neurologist at MUSC, but his or her primary care provider is at Hampton Regional, that patient can use 1upHealth - if both facilities are registered with the app - to pull together his or her health information in one central location. The app offers patients complete access to their patient records anytime and anywhere."

To utilize these applications, users must be enrolled in the hospital's myHealth Patient Portal; steps to enroll are located here. Both apps - Meditech MHealth and 1upHealth - are free, and can be downloaded from the App Store on Apple devices; Meditech MHealth is also available for download on the Google Play Store for Android. Users may access download instructions here.

"This technology is a testament to Hampton Regional's deep commitment to make health care more accessible and streamlined for our patients," commented Dave Hamill, CEO, HRMC. "We are always looking for innovative ways to improve the patient experience, and ensure access to a variety of health care services where many families live and work."

If patients have a preferred application for accessing their health information, they may submit a request to the hospital by calling (803)943-2771. The Information Technology Department will review the application's compatibility with Hampton Regional's myHealth Patient Portal.

More information on the newly launched apps is located here.
