The Surgical Services department at HRMC is where skill and technology unite. You can be assured that your surgical experience at this facility will be delivered by knowledgeable professionals in a safe environment using the finest technology available. Our surgery center has been designed for privacy, confidentiality, and comfort. As the only facility in Hampton County licensed to perform outpatient or inpatient surgery, HRMC has invested extensively in a state of the art surgery center. The surgical suites are fully equipped with technology from the finest manufactures in the industry; Stryker, Datascope, Alcon, Ethicon, Olympus, Synthes and Steris.

The veteran surgery team is highly trained and has extensive experience in surgery and other areas including critical care, emergency medicine, inpatient care, and home health. Preoperative and postoperative care is an important part of the surgical experience and is individualized for each patient; the patient and family will receive detailed instructions, and your nurse will take you through each step of the process, providing answers to your questions and concerns.

General Surgeon Dr. Charles D. (Chuck) Garner brings over 30 years of surgical experience to Hampton Regional Medical Center in Affiliation with MUSC Health. He offers a broad range of services from colonoscopies to appendectomies to hernia repairs. Garner is excited to join the Coastal Plains practice and encourages community members to get their surgical care close to home.
