Ophthalmology focuses on diseases of the eye and visual system. Various conditions, such as cataracts, may affect the eye, its associated structures, and the visual system. Ophthalmology also comprises diagnosis and treatment of such conditions.

What is an Ophthalmologist?

An Ophthalmologist is a medical doctor who specializes in eye care and surgery. As they are trained to care for all eye conditions and diseases, most ophthalmologists complete extensive training beyond their medical degree.
