HRMC Welcomes New Surgeon Dr. Miller

Varnville, SC August 14, 2023- Hampton Regional Medical Center in Affiliation with MUSC Health is excited to welcome General Surgeon Dr. Stephen Miller II to the team of medical specialists at Coastal Plains Physician Associates.

Miller, a native of Charleston, SC, attended Furman University and the Medical University of South Carolina before completing his residency at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, where he has spent the most of his career practicing the art of general surgery. Now he is pleased to move his career back to the Lowcountry.

“It’s nice to be back in this part of this state,” Miller said. “It feels like home to me.”

Miller specializes in surgery for a wide range of illnesses and broad screenings like colonoscopies, upper endoscopies and other cancer surveillance and intervention. He also performs surgical intervention for abdominal problems and intestinal issues like appendicitis, gallbladder, hernia repair, skin cancer, breast cancer and endocrine disorders. Miller is accepting new referrals from outside physicians and is also accepting new patients without a referral. Miller said it is his hope that Hampton community residents will consider saving themselves a drive and schedule procedures close to home at Hampton Regional Medical Center. Miller is highly skilled and trained in the diagnosis, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management of patient care.

“I’m a South Carolina surgeon who wants to stay in this state and serve the community,” he said.

When Miller is not working, he spends time with his wife Kerrison and his one-year-old daughter, Kennedy. He enjoys the outdoors with activities such as hiking, hunting, and anything on the water, including boating and fishing.
